Welcome to The Way It Was Photos
Capturing human existence, wildlife and nature at their most beautiful, unexpected or paradoxical moments, photographer Jim Dowsett's lens extracts magical perspectives and contrasts. His art has been greatly influenced by his love of nature, the human spirit and the poignant memories of growing up on a farm in rural Michigan. The Way It Was Photography uses only archival-quality materials for all image processing.

Custom sizes are available upon request. Michigan residents please add 6% sales tax to orders. Orders are shipped in the continental United States or Canada via the US Postal Service directly upon receipt of payment.
